Dr. Kober was acting Assistant Surgeon in the U.S. Army from 1874-1886, and in 1890 became Professor of Hygiene at the Georgetown Medical School. Felix Neumann was born in Konigsburg, Germany in 1858 where he began his professional career as a journalist. In 1886 he came to America and became involved in the book trade. In 1900 he went to the Library of Congress and in 1908 to the Army Medical Library. He received an honorary doctorate from Georgetown University in 1931 and retired from federal service in 1932. Claudius F. Mayer was born in Eger, Hungary in 1899. He earned his M.D. in 1925 at the Royal Hungarian Pazmany Peter University in Budapest.
